Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

3-5 years’ experience in a mid-complexity laboratory setting with special emphasis on knowledge of Quality Management Systems and external assessment requirements, experience in document management processes and software, proficiency testing, troubleshooting complex problems, method evaluation techniques, laboratory performance measures, non-conforming event management, patient safety activities, quality improvement teams, MSOffice applications, communications and presentations, and conducting effective meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Microbiology and/or a Public Health Laboratory an asset. Strong teamwork and liaison skills within laboratory and with laboratory users. Knowledge and use of the AHS Reporting and Learning System (RLS) for reporting, investigation and improvement activities. Planning and project management skills. Effective time management skills. Broad range of discipline and laboratory facility experience is an asset.
