Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

One to two years of recent experience in a Diagnostic or Public Health Laboratory. At least two years (within the last five years) of experience in Molecular Diagnostics, NAT, and/or sequencing including whole genome sequencing. Excellent computer skills for Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrated excellent problem solving, decision making, and trouble-shooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional education in Molecular Biology, genomics, and/or bioinformatics. Frontline Leadership certificate training. Process Excellence certification. Knowledgeable with the Human Pathogen and Toxins Act (HPTA). Experience with the Cerner Millennium Information System.
